September 2020

Dear PALS and Caregivers,

Many PALS (and even other people like me) struggle with too much saliva.

I have been juicing lime with a $15 juicer, putting the juice in an ice cube tray to freeze.  Then each morning, I pop that lime cube into a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.  Lemon will probably work also, but lime is less messy than lemon.  It works to some degree, but if I miss a day, I regret it.

I just learned from the Manchesters that Cistus tea will do the same thing and perhaps even better than the lime.  If I understand correctly, the Cistus that lots of good healing properties.  Here is a list of its benefits:

Cleansing herbal tea – Cistus incanus is the richest sources of polyphenols-phenolic compounds belonging to the group of plant substances with antioxidant activity supporting the human immune system. Cistus Incanus offers a rich source of polyphenols, proanthocyandidins, bioflavonoids, catechins, gallic acid, rutin and other beneficial bioactive compounds.

Cistus tea can be ordered at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BBQBBZZ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_JUZNEbFY141RS
Or
https://e-cosmetorium.com/collections/vendors?q=NatVita

As of the end of September, I have been experimenting using both the lime water in the morning and the Cistus tea tablets twice a day.  I am finding that if I don't forget, I have very little excess saliva issues.

We are always searching for ideas to help PALS.  If you have any suggestions, please share.
